Job Description

This person maintains and enhances the brand of Wine Flight.

This person’s two objectives are:

  1. Help increase Wine Flight’s sales
  2. Maintain online virality and engagement.

This person will achieve these two objectives by maintaining Wine Flight’s marketing and our in-store product placement and signage.

Hours: Approximately 5 – 12 hours a week depending on project and proficiency. If desired, Wine Flight is willing to give more hours a week.

Schedule: Flexible. Person is able to work from home; however, for tasks that require presence at Wine Flight (e.g. photography; product placement; wine description signage) this person will work from Wine Flight (likely once a week). (We prefer—if possible—this person’s presence at Wine Flight on Wednesdays from 10 AM – 12 PM.)

Wage: Compensation will be based on a holistic evaluation of the applicant on a case-by-case basis. This person will not receive gratuity from customers. Wine Flight does not provide other fringe benefits.

Job Duties

This person will work in concert with owner or Manager and will eventually have autonomy.

This person must:

  • Own a personal laptop computer (with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel) and smartphone to use for Wine Flight duties;
  • Market Wine Flight’s brand in a manner that walks a fine line of wit and humor while being mindful of political correctness and sensitivities when publishing innovative/trendsetting content;
  • Be proficient in
    • Canva (or other online design program),
    • editing photos (i.e. have a keen eye for product placement and lighting when taking photos of people, animals, and products to then edit and publish);
    • Later (social media scheduler),
    • Facebook (for general posts, Stories, tagging, sharing, and Events),
    • Instagram (general posts, tagging, and Stories),
    • use of GIFs, and
    • Outlook Email;
  • Design/develop custom images and content (using design programs listed above) to reinforce marketing message (i.e. placing text over images, adjusting transparency, and etc. to make a visually appealing graphics/photos);
  • Create compelling marketing campaigns that are current with today’s world events and holidays and ensure the in-store product placement and signage reinforces this marketing campaign;
  • Use proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and vocabulary when publishing content;
  • Schedule at least 1 week worth of social media content at a time.
  • Manage Wine Flight’s social media platforms and timely respond on demand to Wine Flight’s followers’ comments/replies/reviews on social media with poise, wit, and professionalism;
  • Review Wine Flight’s social media analytics and apply this knowledge to continuously improve Wine Flight’s next marketing publications;
  • Communicate marketing campaigns to Manager to ensure appropriate products are purchased;
  • Communicate with Manager to advertise menu changes and photograph food; and
  • Complete tasks as assigned by Manager.

This person will eventually become proficient in their role to soon grow into the following responsibilities:

  • Update our website using WordPress;
  • Create, market, and liaison special events/workshops (i.e. related to the planning and preparation of the events—however, not working on the floor during the events) with artists/craft instructors, coaches, speakers, etc.; and
  • Research wine tasting profiles and harvest locations to publish wine description tags as Wine Flight launches new wine;
  • Generate new ideas for marketing/advertisements (e.g. billboards; print media), obtain pricing, and execute plan after budget approved.
